On event day,
we held a birthday cake cutting ceremony with Susan from the Doberman SOS
rescue, ABC KERO TV Bakersfield weather anchor Christina Loren, Tehachapi
Chamber of Commerce President Ida Rennie, and Susie, owner of Canine
Creek. After photos were taken, we held a doggy bake sale, with all proceeds
going to the
Doberman SOS rescue. A sincere THANK YOU to Pink Poodle Gourmet and
The Polka Dot Puppy dog bakeries for donating their gorgeous dog cakes to our
fundraiser.
Our very nice neighbor,
Apple Jack Kids, generously
offered to donate 10% of their clothing sales on April 1st to the Doberman
SOS rescue, and gave us a check after the event. Please stop by and check out all the adorable items for
sale at Apple Jacks, and say thanks to Carissa for helping Tehachapi's
homeless pets. Apple Jack Kids also sponsored these event

Our fundraiser would not have been
nearly as successful without the help and support of Tammi McAfee of
McAfee's Party A Plenty. Tammi donated countless hours of her time
to gather sponsors, sell raffle tickets, and co-ordinate our event day
vendors. If anyone in Tehachapi needs a party or event planner, we
highly recommend Tammi. Her energy and enthusiasm are unbeatable.

Walk-ins were welcome on event
day, upon availability. If you missed the photographer, please keep
an eye on our website for announcements of future dates. We're
hoping to have them here at least 2 or 3 times a year, so they should be
back soon.
Happy Trails Pet &
Livestock Services brought an
adorable petting zoo to our birthday bash, featuring a baby calf, baby pigs,
sheep and a goat. The petting zoo was a big hit with everyone, and
we look forward to having them with us at our next event.
In addition to providing
animals for parties and events, Happy Trails offers grooming,
boarding, pet sitting and other animal related services. For

Thank you to the nice people at
Oak Creek Energy,
our local wind energy facility, for their cash donation of $150 to Dobie
SOS.
The American Indian BBQ grill by Mano, was
enjoyed by all who attended. Their offerings included Indian Frybread with honey and powder sugar, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
with homemade coleslaw, Indian Tacos, Grilled Buffalo Links with peppers
and onions, and giant dill pickles.
