SHOP NEWS 2004 - ARCHIVE
Pet Health & Safety for the Holidays (Nov 2004)
Our article on this topic was
printed in several local publications. If you missed it, you can
read it on our website.
New for the holidays: Dog Gift Baskets (Nov 2004)
Looking for something different to give
the dog-lover in your life this holiday? Love to spoil your pet
with a pile of goodies under the tree? Stop into Canine Creek and
take a look at the adorable gift baskets we have for sale. We made
them especially for our customers, so you won't find them anywhere else.
And, if we don't have a gift basket that suits your needs, you can pick
the contents and we'll make a custom one for you! Just select a
ceramic or stainless steel bowl and at least (4) additional items, and
you'll receive 20% OFF
everything (same day purchases). Pawprint basket wrap, ribbon and
a multi-colored munchy candy cane are provided at no extra cost.
Pre-made baskets start at only
$25 and include a stainless
bowl, doggie bandana, with a variety of cute toys and treats.
Happy Holidays!
Now in
Stock - Waterproof Collars (Nov 2004)
We now sell high-visibility
waterproof dog collars in dayglow orange, blue, red, neon yellow, green
and purple, in sizes ranging from 10" to 20" in length. They are
perfect for the faithful companions of joggers, hikers, hunters,
night-time walkers, boaters, campers or anyone who enjoys an outdoor
lifestyle. These beautiful, high-quality collars have metal
buckles and d-rings, and are reasonably priced, starting at only $7.49

Why
Tehachapi Needs a Dog Park (Nov 2004)
We believe that every pooch
deserves a safe place to play. Although Tehachapi has a wonderful
park system, and is a very dog-friendly community, there are currently
no facilities dedicated to our canine friends. We'd like to see
something done about this. Read the "Letter
to the Editor" sent to the Tehachapi News, the Bear Valley Cub, and
the Mountain Signal.
Introducing:
Canine Creek Boutique
(Oct 2004)
You asked for dog supplies, and we
listened. Canine Creek is now selling collars, leashes, specialty
grooming tools & supplies, training aids, bones and chews, bowls, treats,
pet tags, and a variety of fun toys. Storage space is limited in the
shop, but we'll try to stock most of the doggie basics. (We will not
be carrying food.) Large items, such as pet beds, crates, etc., can be
special ordered upon request. If we don't have an item you need,
please feel free to ask and we'll try to get it for you. Come and
check out the new goodies the next time you're in the neighborhood..... your
dog will thank you.
Humane Society Fundraiser
(Oct 10, 2004)
We will be holding a fundraiser on Sunday, October 10,
2004 from
Noon to 5pm, for the Tehachapi
Humane Society, and will donate 50% of that day's bathing fees to THS. Volunteers are needed.
If you are available to help clean tubs, please contact Susie at Canine
Creek, 661-822-0307. If you'd like to assist THS with adoptions, call
661-823-0699. We would like to raise as much money as possible, and
hope to find homes for some nice adoptable dogs. If you adopt a dog
from THS on this day, you'll receive a FREE bath for your new dog (to use
any time), plus a FREE Canine Creek t-shirt, available in a variety of
colors and sizes. Please join us for a fun doggie day and help the
homeless!
Shop
Access During
Construction (Oct 2004)
Due to gas pump construction at
Howard's Mini Market (corner of Valley & Tucker) the Valley Blvd driveway to
our shop is currently closed. Please use either of the two Tucker Road
driveways -- one is located in front of Howard's, and the other is next to
Remax. There is usually parking available right in front of our shop,
so don't let the blocked Valley Blvd entrance deter you from visiting.
We are told that the construction project will end by November 4, 2004, and
we are hoping they will finish on schedule.
New Shop Hours
(August 2004)
Due to increased demand, we are now open six days a week! Effective
August 22, 2004, our shop schedule is:
| Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday |
11am to 6pm |
| Friday & Saturday |
10am to 5pm |
| Sunday |
Noon to 5pm |
| Monday |
CLOSED |
As the business continues
to grow, we will consider adding Monday hours if enough people request it.
In the meantime, we are happy to offer Monday bathing by advance
appointment, if we are available. Give us a call (661-822-0307) or
send an e-mail if you'd like to make a Monday appointment. We
will usually need a minimum of 24 hours notice, but will try to
accommodate you on shorter notice in case of an emergency de-skunking or
similar situation. Let's hope you don't need that. :-)
A Nice Customer
'Thank You' (July 2004)
The Mountain Signal newspaper
printed a Letter to the Editor about Canine Creek by one of our happy
customers, Beverly Gallagher. Although Beverly's dog is afraid of
being left at grooming shops, Molly apparently is quite relaxed when
visiting us, because her human mom stays with her and does the bathing.
It's very rewarding to know we're able to help Molly stay clean, with less
stress.
Winston Joins
the Family (June 2004)
Our 5th
Guide Dogs of America
puppy-in-training has joined the staff at Canine Creek. If you'd
like to learn more about our volunteer guide dog puppy raising experiences
(and baby Winston, of course), you can read our online diary
from the
beginning when we started volunteering for GDA in 2000, or jump
directly to
Winston's
page. (These links will take you to pages within our other
business website -- Trojan
Horse Antiques & Collectibles.)
Canine
Creek... in the News (Apr 7, 2004)
....The Tehachapi News
newspaper, that is. The local press picked up on the events of our
opening week, and ran a very nice quarter page story about our new dog
wash, and even included 3 color photos of our shop and customers.
Cool, huh?
We're Open
for Business! (Apr 3, 2004)
Our opening day party
was a rousing success, with lots of puppies and human guests in
attendance. We feel honored to be welcomed so warmly by the
Tehachapi pet community. Miss the celebration?
