Pumpkin Decorating Contest for Students - $600 in Prize Money! (Oct 2010)
Hey Kids... want a chance to win money for your school?  Canine Creek is having a Pumpkin Decorating Contest for students, where we will be donating $200 per age group (Elementary, Middle & High School) for the three "best dressed pumpkins" in each age group, for a total of $600 in cash prizes going to local schools. Pumpkins must be ANIMAL THEMED and decorated on the outside only. You can use things like paint, foam, fabric, cardboard, pipe cleaners, glitter, felt, etc, to decorate your pumpkin, but please... NO carved or cut jack-o-lanterns. After all, we want your artistic creation to last the whole month, and not turn into a pile of gooey mush! Pumpkins may dropped off at Canine Creek any day in October. The winning pumpkins will be decided by our staff on Oct 31st.

FOLLOW UP... the Winners! Congratulations to Molly, Olivia and Barbara (photos, top down), the winners of our Pumpkin Decorating Contest for Students. Molly of Carden School (Grade K-5 winner) created a snail, Olivia from Heritage Oaks designed a panda bear, and Barbara of Tehachapi High School decorated her pumpkin as a tiny elephant using the stem as a trunk. Each student will receive a $200 donation to their school, a $25 Witt's Gift Card to the teacher of their choice, and a $25 Pacino's Restaurant for themselves. PLUS, each student who entered a pumpkin will receive a $10 Canine Creek Gift Card as runner up prize. As of 4pm on Halloween Eve, the pumpkins have been sent downtown to be on display at the Trunk or Treat event. Thanks to all who participated!
